If you’ve a 2018+ AMG Mercedes, the chances are it’s fitted with a CPC module. The CPC module is an additional control unit that manages some important aspects within your drivetrain. If you’re tuning your ECU, you’ll need to tune the CPC module to get the most out of your AMG.

Some modern AMG Petrol Mercedes are fitted with an additional control module for the powertrain, similar to an ECU, called a CPC.
The CPC contains software instructions that control the exhaust valves, speed limiter and also, most importantly, torque limiters.
In most modern vehicles, torque limiters are controlled in the ECU and TCU (if the vehicle is automatic), however, with Mercedes the torque limiters are set in the ECU only (unless it is fitted with a CPC).
For VAG and BMW cars, we recommend a gearbox tune, mainly to remove the torque limiter restrictions. Torque limiters can short-change you some power and torque if they’re not raised, meaning you’ll be missing out on some BHP and torque from your ECU tune if the limiters are not raised.
As Mercedes torque limiters are set only in the ECU, except for vehicles equipped with a CPC, you don’t need to tune the gearbox to get the most out of your ECU tune. However, if your Mercedes AMG has a CPC, we recommend to tune the CPC as well to raise the torque limiters and not restrict the power your engine can make.
Most AMG models from 2018 are fitted with a CPC module.
